My fascination with Goddess stories began in 2011 while visiting the New York Public Library. I was surprised to find the subject of Goddess located in Mythology and Folklore. The subject of God in Religion. The notion of the Goddess dates back at least 30,000 years. "It is only in relatively recent times that we have begun to recognize the presence behind these many goddess masks of a being who is Goddess as opposed to God, a force who long preceded her male counterpart as an appropriate metaphor for the Great Mystery of Existence." from "GODDESS, Myths Of The Female Divine" by David Leeming and Jake Page. These paintings are my personal interpretations of Goddess.

My concept is that travel is dreaming in reality, especially our memories of traveling. Travel and dreams evoke similar feelings of wonder and mystery. For "Zero to Sixty", I expanded the first Passport Project portrait, adding additional passport photos, a school photo, ID and a Driver's License to maintain the square format. "Iam65" continues to expand the theme, with additional documents; photos of me by artist/son Jonathan Mack, Driver's Licenses, Modeling photos, Work photo, and a design project photo from Art Center College of Design. The "Iam65" list includes details, dates and locations for the 9 images in the collage. I am anticipating a next installment of the project in five years, on my 70th birthday. Each photo collage represents my life's journeys, passports to a life of dreams. - Snow Mack
As our country comes to grips with the devastating Covid 19 Pandemic, a very old wound continues to fester until an egregious crime, a murder of a Black man named George Floyd by the very people who have sworn to protect all citizens, sparkes such outrage that Citizens of all colors and all backgrounds take to the streets in protest. So many people, all over the World, voice their anger at the injustices that shatter black families' lives everyday. Some people march on the streets and some contribute in quiet ways. The signs began appearing right after the protests swept through Westwood and Santa Monica. The quiet voices echo throughout my Westside neighborhood, I documented the signs in windows, on light posts, painted rocks and creative installations on front yards. The majority of the images are from June 2020, but I will continue to document the quiet resolute voices of my neighbors in Los Angeles.
Prayers For The Pandemic
Drawing Rooms Jersey City, New Jersey Prayers for the Pandemic is an ongoing public art project happening across the US, produced by Drawing Rooms, Jersey City, NJ. Prayers for the Pandemic draws inspiration from Tibetan prayer flags used to bless the surrounding area. While we are all living through the Coronavirus pandemic, we feel everyone could use blessings. We want to send positive Karma out into the world and brighten each other’s days in the special way that art can do. Volume 1 includes the first group of 34 artists’ works. This catalog features flags flying from California to New York City to Florida-- flags hanging on the sides of buildings, in the windows of suburban homes and storefronts, on a wooden country fence and a barbed wire ranch enclosure, in medical labs, strung between trees in parks, over city streets and everywhere that we are sheltering through this time. Prayer of Loving Kindness May all beings be peaceful. May all beings be happy. May all beings be safe. May all beings awaken to the light of their true nature. May all beings be free Metta Prayer Drawing inspiration from my toys and Pez collection, I set up a small "stage" to create scenes. In "Whispers", 3 Princess Leia Pez appear to be two woman talking about a third woman as she is just out of ear shot. In "Gossip" the conversation is taking a unpleasant turn as the two women confide what they think they know to a third person. Casting the Pez as characters in a play had the odd effect of giving each duplicate a unique look even though they are exact copies. Exploring human situations through inanimate objects facilitates the task of sharpening my observing and rendering skills. I started collecting Pez in 2004 to use on frames. I had a system of bidding on large lots on Ebay, only bidding up to a few cents per items that I wanted. It was always fun to get the large boxes with many mystery items, usually the photos showed a pile of Pez without an exact list of items. I concentrated on Star Wars Pez for a series of Star Wars characters to be framed in Pez. I wanted to create works that remind the viewer to be aware of compassion and goodness in humanity. The "Monkeys of Compassion" evolved from the idea that, to me, the well known Three Wise Monkeys represent fear. The world needs to move beyond our fears and respond with compassion. Courage, kindness, and passion are just a few examples of the strengths of humankind. A spiral motif is the dominant design element. The spirals are made with fortunes from fortune cookies I've been collecting for twenty plus years and three years of collecting Sunday horoscopes representing all twelve signs of the Zodiac. The messages are slightly obscured, dispensing advice is not my goal, the viewer will gravitate to the words or not. Placements of random found objects, toys, jewelry, buttons, game pieces and more, compliment the spiral. Each piece is a miniature Altar with a dashboard Saint and a vial of healing dirt from El Santuario de Chimayo in New Mexico. I visited The Church of the Miracle Dirt in September 2014. In these works, I am combining my spiritual influences; the Hindu Monkey God Hanuman, Christian symbology and the mystical powers of the healing dirt. Each Altar has a small offering bowl, sculpted by artist Peggy Zask, for prayers, wishes, mementos and keepsakes.
